Vow Renewals

My DH showed me an article in the TBT times last week, about a couple that got married at Monster Golf. Pretty cool idea, but then my wheels got spinning, our 20th anniv. is next year. Ooooh! How about a halloween party/vow renewal ceremony. Even though our anniv. is in May we HAVE to have the party in Oct 2010. UGH, so far away but TONS of time for research and prep.

I had looked on youtube and found "Tommy and Debbie's renewal of vows" a halloween version. Its hard to see, very dark video, but I love the officiant, he dressed as Beetlejuice and his script was awesomely humorous and serious. That is what I'm looking for humorous/spooky/tear jerker type of wording for vows. Very hard to find.

I'm sure you all have a TON of awesome ideas for a halloweeny/vow renewal party.

I think you should do it on your anniversary, nobody says we can't dress up for a Halloween theme then!

Ironstock has a costume ball this weekend, Hauntcon had one in May, Horrorfind Weekend will have one during their con (usually Aug, but Sept. this year) so a costume party is always fun, no matter what month it is in!

I was supposed to attend that wedding but ended up getting stuck at work. I'm still bummed!
Bring the newspaper story to the M&T! I think we'd all love to see it!

IshWitch - The reason why I decided to do it in October, is because the house would be decorated inside and out. I don't want to pull all that stuff out twice, plus the neighbors would think I was SUPER de duper crazy. Not that this would surprise them.

Coda - I just have to find a family member or a friend that can come up with a great vow and maybe they would like to be the officiant

Creepy- pull down the decorations and just leave them there !
That way you can tweak things so they will be perfect for H-night !

I am not sure if Coda was referring to "Noahbody" ( which is Harbinger of Sorrows former name). Is HOS an officiant? Ordained by the church of Calif?

I am looking for a Priest Cassock for Hamm's costume this year....
know where I can get an xtra large one? Standard Costume size won't fit. I want the one that is button down ( similar to Neo in Matrix)
I have been looking at real ones. $250 up. Geesh. I will probably have to make it.

I don't know yet if we are coming July 18th, I'll ask tonight. I had posted back in m&t that my dh and I are not mechanically crafty, so if we can come hang out, meet everyone and watch YOU ALL be mechanicallly crafty and hope that we can be just watching you all. I had also asked if kids can come, my 8 year old dd?

I would LOVE to leave the decor up ALL THE TIME, that would be so awesome, but for some reason hubby doesn't want it.

CFQ: the "Noahbody" was a play on words. . . but he certainly is capable of perfoming at this!!

I missed the part that it would be at your house. So totally understand that, then. Just thought it would be a great opportunity to have 2 Halloweens in one year.

Plans had dissipated, but now they are back on and in full force. With the help of a friend who just started as a party organizer/consultant (perfect timing). I even told her to check out this forum for more great ideas from all of you. We will not have it at Monster Mini Golf, we will have it at the house. This will be a Halloween party combo, so it will also be my first FULL BLOWN party with a bunch of people, OMG!

I'm so excited.
